Code of Conduct
The success of the St John’s High School (Emerald Hill) Alumni Association depends on the involvement of our valued Alumni of former Teachers and Students. The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to help and ensure a positive, productive and respectful environment that complies with the values of St John’s High School (Emerald Hill), whose name we carry.
In order to participate in the Volunteer Programs and Opportunities of the SJHSEHAA, each valued volunteer is expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct as described below.
Core Principles:
- Integrity and Honesty: Act with honesty, integrity, and fairness in all interactions and responsibilities.
- Respect and Dignity: Treat all staff, volunteers, and program participants with respect, dignity, and courtesy, regardless of their background or circumstances.
- Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of all information entrusted, including personal information, program details, and sensitive data.
- Professionalism: All conduct to be professional, representing the SJHSEHAA positively and responsibly.
- Safety and Security: Follow all safety and security protocols and procedures, and report any concerns or incidents promptly.
- Non-Discrimination: Refrain from any form of discrimination or harassment based on race, religion, gender, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Conflict of Interest: Declare any potential conflicts of interest that may arise during volunteer work and avoid any actions that could compromise the integrity of SJHSEHAA.
- Respect for Property: Treat all property and resources entrusted with care and respect, and use them responsibly.
- Attendance and Punctuality: Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and follow through with all commitments.
- Social Media: Be mindful of your online presence and avoid posting anything that could damage the reputation of St John’s High School (Emerald Hill), the SJHSEHAA or its volunteers.
Consequences of Non-Compliance: Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of volunteer status.

Acknowledgement: By accepting a volunteer position with SJHSEHAA, each Volunteer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
